Station Mask

The red line in the map below delineates the station mask, or "horizon," for the antennas of the ASF Satellite Tracking Ground Station. Signals from satellites within the station mask can reach ASF's antennas. The notch at left is caused by Ester Dome, a Fairbanks mountain that rises above the horizon a few miles from the ground station.
