How to View and Geocode CEOS Data in ASF MapReady

Source: ASF Staff

  Easier

Why use ASF MapReady to view and geocode CEOS synthetic aperture radar (SAR) files?

ASF MapReady enables users to view and geocode a number of historic SAR products. ASF uses the CEOS (Committee on Earth Observation Satellites) format to release a number of historic SAR products. Inconsistencies in CEOS adoption led to a number of different CEOS "flavors," of which ASF’s is one. You can view and geocode CEOS-format data by following the recipe on this page.

Data in CEOS format available through the ASF DAAC include Level 1.5 ALOS PALSAR, and Level 1 JERS, ERS-1, ERS-2 and RADARSAT-1. A jpg browse image is included with the products.
