Satellite Tracking Ground Station

The Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF) operates a Satellite Tracking Ground Station (STGS) with two antennas: a 10 meter X band and, an 11 meter X and S band system, and distributes data, focused on but not limited to, synthetic-aperture-radar (SAR) data primarily to scientific users. ASF is part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ground Network (GN) that consists of an Orbital Network and a Suborbital Research Range. The ASF STGS currently supports six missions: ERS 2, Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS), QuikSCAT, FAST, Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM), and SCISAT 1.
