Measure Like a Scientist

Scientists use a type of measurement called the metric system. One meter is a few inches longer than a yard (3.3 feet). Imagine 10 yard sticks on the ground and you've got almost 11 meters! If you want help to see how long a meter is, then grab a yard stick and flip it over to the side that says meters--imagine it's just a little longer than it is.

To find out where Miner Ed emerges, we will practice being scientists by using meters for our measurements.
