Fly-By of Muldrow Glacier

Starting at the terminus, we fly south along the glacier towards Mount McKinley in Denali National Park. Alaska natives call the mountain, "Denali," or, the "Great One."

As we fly, the Brooks glacier enters the scene. The Brooks glacier merges with the Muldrow as it passes Mount Brooks.

Past Mount Brooks and towards Denali, a fork appears in the Muldrow glacier. The left hand fork is the Traleika glacier that flows into the Muldrow. The Muldrow continues on towards Denali and up the mountain.

As we get closer to the mountain, Wickersham Wall becomes visible. Wickersham Wall is the sheer face on the northern side of the mountain. Just beneath the ridge is a fourth glacier, Peters Glacier. This glacier is separated from the other three glaciers by Pioneer Ridge. The Peters glacier will eventually turn North and away from the other glaciers.
