SAR Data CenterAbout SAR Data Center

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) Project is a part of the Earth Science Projects Division under the Flight Projects Directorate at Goddard Space Flight Center. As key components of ESDIS, twelve interlinked Data Centers are operated by a distributed network of independent facilities across the United States. Eight of these Data centers are Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAAC), including the NASA Data Center operated by the Alaska Satellite Facility (ASF).

ASF's DAAC is the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) Data Center specializing in SAR data collection, processing, archiving, and distribution. These data are supplied by SAR sensors on many different spaceborne and airbone platforms, including:

SAR Data Center Sensors

AIRSAR : Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar
ERS-1 SAR : ERS-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar
ERS-2 SAR : ERS-2 Synthetic Aperture Radar
JERS-1 SAR : JERS-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar
PALSAR : Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar
RADARSAT-1 SAR : RADARSAT-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar
UAVSAR : Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar
