Currently, there are about 14,000 relatively cloud-free hard copy Landsat MSS (multi-spectral scanner) images of the State of Alaska and adjacent waters at 80 m resolution, from Landsat 1 through Landsat 5, acquired from 1972 through 1990.
There are approximately 25,000 photographic images of Alaska and adjacent waters in the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) HRPT (High Resolution Picture Transmission) archive. Data in the archive dates back to 1974, from polar-orbiting satellites NOAA 2-12. Each image covers a 200 km wide swath at a resolution of 1.1 km.
