New User Information

As per the agreements between NASA and the space agencies whose SAR data ASF downlinks, you must be a registered user to obtain ASF's SAR-related data. This means that you need to write a short proposal about who you are, how this data would help your research, etc. The following information should help you get started:

Project Proposal Guidelines
A detailed description of what information should be included in your proposal.

Data Policy
A description of the policies regarding data acquisition requests, data access and use, availability of research results, etc. as agreed to by the participating space agencies.

Available Data Products
A description of the standard SAR products available from the ASF to approved proposals.

Product Price List
Many of ASF's SAR investigators, funded by the space agencies who manage ASF's data (including NASA), are granted data credits from said agencies and need not pay for data used in their research. The total cost of the requested data still needs to be determined, however.

Station Mask
Excluding data which are recorded and later downlinked to ASF, this graphic shows the spatial coverage of ASF's data holdings.

Searching and Ordering of Downlinked and Scanned Data
The EOSDIS Data Gateway (EDG) is a web-based catalog search and order system that includes most of ASF's data. You don't have to be an approved user to perform a search. Only approved users can place an order.

Ordering an Acquisition of Data
You can initiate a Data Acquisition Request (DAR) to have data downlinked at a future time.
